Meet Walter

A Lifetime of Service

Walter “Chief” Armstrong has devoted decades of his life to public service, law enforcement, leadership, and his community. His career began with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, where he served as a State Trooper and later held positions in public affairs, highway safety, and grant management.

Armstrong went on to serve as Chief of Police in both Vicksburg and Natchez. During his years in leadership, his responsibilities extended beyond enforcing the law. He managed personnel, worked with community organizations, expanded neighborhood partnerships, and helped develop programs designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the people they served.

His commitment to service is also backed by education and professional training. Armstrong earned degrees from Hinds Community College and Alcorn State University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Today, he continues his public service as Central District Justice Court Judge for Warren County, bringing decades of experience in law enforcement and public service to the bench.
