Leadership, Education & Professional Training

Armstrong’s professional experience includes service as a Mississippi State Trooper, Public Affairs Officer and Coordinator, highway-safety Program Specialist, Grant Manager, and Chief of Police in both Vicksburg and Natchez.

His educational background includes an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Hinds Community College, a Bachelor of Science in General Studies from Alcorn State University, and a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Alcorn State University.

His advanced professional training includes graduation from the FBI National Academy, Dale Carnegie Leadership Training, Mississippi Law Enforcement Command College, Crime Stoppers Outreach and Continuing Education, and the Rural Executive Management Institute Program.

Armstrong has also served as President of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police and received the Jim Ingram Lifetime Achievement Award.
